Storyboard
While the Epic of Gilgamesh is a classic, I wanted to adapt the universal themes of friendship and remembrance into something relatable for today’s generation. The original story contained elements that would be deemed controversial by today's standards, especially for my target audience which is pre-teens. However, at the same time, I wanted to treat the reader with respect and not sugarcoat the story.

Initial sketches of potential character designs

I chose to tell the story using insects, particularly beetles, because of their nature as fighters in real life. The world of Pursuit is rough and unforgiving, and I wanted to reflect this in the character and world design.
