I wanted to update the wayfinding of the Chester Beatty to be modern and easy to follow. I chose to use eye-catching floor decals to accommodate all guests, regardless of what language they speak. The colours were chosen as they are fundamental to many of the pieces seen at the gallery.

The promotional standee features samurai artwork from the collection and aims to intrigue visitors of Dublin Castle to visit the nearby gallery. It also serves as a potential photo opportunity. Standees of different artwork in this style could potentially be placed around Dublin Castle to help with wayfinding and attract tourists.

I believe that social media platforms such as Instagram are critical for raising awareness of the Chester Beatty among tourists, young people and locals alike.

The stories above feature artwork from the gallery's collection with eye-catching coloured backgrounds and links to their website. The tone of voice is formal but inviting to reflect the nature of the gallery. These posts would hopefully pique the viewer's interest and entice them to learn more and visit the Chester Beatty.
Installation

Paper prototype of potential installation

Demonstration of light projection

The installation aims to celebrate the craftsmanship and attention to detail found in the Chester Beatty's diverse collection. It also aims to impress visitors by encouraging them to take and share photos on social media, promoting the gallery.

Each side features artwork representing artefacts from the collection from different parts of the world. Red symbolises Asia, green represents the Islamic World, and blue represents the West. Visitors can interact with the piece by snapping individual faces off the pyramid and changing them with other artwork at the gallery.

From making the paper prototype, I realised that the projection would only project on the walls and not the floor, which means that the installation could not be placed in an open space. I felt that this would limit where the installation could be placed. As such, I felt the shape of the installation needed to be changed from a pyramid to a hexahedron shape as seen above.
